My April glam bag is finally here! This is the first one I’ve gotten and it was totally worth the $10. For those of you who are new to IPSY, it is a beauty bag subscription. Each month they send you a glam bag with 5 deluxe samples or full sized products, personalized to you, based on how you filled out their makeup survey.
This month’s theme was Sideshow, and the bag looked like a giant carnival ticket. Of all the IPSY bags I’ve seen, this was definitely my favorite
EM Cosmetics – Illustrative brush tip eyeliner – $1
I was so excited when I pulled this out of the bag. I love eye products and this eyeliner is so easy to apply in precise lines and it dries really fast. This is the first product I’ve tried from EM Cosmetics and I’m really impressed.
PS Cosmeceutical Infused Nail Lacquer – $15
When I saw this was a semi-natural nail polish, I have to admit I was slightly nervous. I’ve tried so many natural/healthy cosmetics that just don’t work, that I didn’t have much faith in this. However, to my surprise besides coming in a great color, a little light to be called nude on me but definitely a gorgeous neutral, it lasted every bit as long as my favorite polishes. Plus, it is non-toxic and formaldehyde, paraben, and lead free, as well as having nail strengthening grapeseed extract. Win-Win!!
Glamour Dolls Lisa Frank Collection Blush Brush – $5
I love how soft the bristles of this brush are, and angled brushes are always handy. Not a big fan of the crazy handle, though. I guess I’m not old enough for Lisa Frank. Glamour Dolls is a cruelty-free, vegan makeup brand. Currently this brush is only available through pre-order. They should arrive by August, or pay an advance fee to receive one by June here.
Elizabeth Mott Show Me Your Glow Shimmer Eyeshadow and Highlighter (sample) – $4
I actually needed a highlighter and this one fits the bill pretty well. It is a light champagne color with a good amount of shimmer. This highlighter is super pretty when used to accent your eyes or along your cheekbones. It does settle into pores a little but not as bad as some highlighters I’ve tried.
H2O+ Beauty Elements Keep It Fresh Face Cleanser – $20
I was least excited with this face wash. It says for normal-dry skin, and since I filled out the IPSY survey as having oily/acne-prone skin I’m not sure why I got this. To be fair I did try it and it was alright. It lathered really well and left my skin feeling conditioned and soft, however after a couple hours my skin was super oily and after a few used my breakouts were noticeably worse. I will definitely not be using that again.
Total Retail Value = $59 + Shipping
I am really pleased with most of the IPSY products I got this month and I love the coral bag that fits in so well with the Side Show Theme. This bag was absolutely worth the $10 to me. Do you have an IPSY subscription? If so, what did you get?
Please note that as I only got one of the many different combinations of IPSY bags so yours may be completely different.
